Below you will find the SBSLC 2023-2024 Associate Staff Position Descriptions, and the Conference Mission and History Statements. Please be sure to review the deadlines and important dates below.

All applicants must:

  • Be an undergraduate student
  • Attend one of the mandatory informational during SBSLC Week
  • A minimum cumulative and current 2.0 GPR
  • Full-time undergraduate status at time of interview

Associate Staff Descriptions

Advanced Leadership Institute (ALI)

Responsible for assisting the Directors of ALI throughout the day, running errands from “main conference” to ALI, and guiding ALI participants through transitions throughout the day.

Auxiliary Services

Responsible for assisting Vendor Fair and Career Fair companies. Will be expected to assist the Directors in attending to the company’s needs. Your main goal is to ensure that each company feels welcomed and comfortable throughout the day.

Marketing

Responsible for capturing the conference through photography and videography, conducting the social media contest, and communicating with participants through the conference app.

Operations

Responsible for helping the Director and Assistant Director with all conference logistics, and assisting other areas with their needs. The main goal is to ensure the conference runs smoothly.

Programs

Responsible for helping the Director and Assistant Director assist and attend to the Keynote Speakers throughout the day. May be required to pick up Keynote Speakers/Entertainers from the airport and/or hotel; take Keynote Speaker/Entertainer to eat; and introduce speaker/entertainer during events throughout the conference.

Registration

Responsible for greeting and assisting participants and advisors with problems that may occur, and helping the Director and Assistant Director check in and register schools/participants. Will assist other areas when tasks are completed Friday afternoon. Your main goal is to keep a positive attitude and to ensure that all participants/advisors are well taken care of upon their arrival and throughout their conference experience.

Workshops

Responsible for welcoming participants into the workshops, introducing workshop presenters, and presenting the workshop presenter with his/her certificate and conference shirt.
